Roots of Adinkra
Adinkra are visual symbols that represent original thoughts or prophetic ideas. Of West African origin - the Ashanti tribe of Ghana, to be more specific - they are primarily found on clothing, woodcarvings, walls or pottery. These symbols and the powerful ideas that they represent, evoke thought of those who use them in their artistry, and those who receive it.
